Mr. Thomas Passanisi, AICP
November 8, 2006
Page 3

copying, photo processing, etc., and subcontractor charges will be invoiced to the City with a 15%
processing mark-up. No mileage or travel expenses are anticipated. Project costs are estimated
at $33,711, including a 15% contingency, as outlined in the attached budget. The project estimate
is not intended to be a "not-to-exceed" figure, as project and process uncertainties cannot be
predicted. The budget shall not, however, exceed the estimate without the express written
permission of the City.

Dain Anderson, Director of Environmental Services for MHA, will be the Project Manager
responsible for managing the tasks outlined in the scope of work, and will attend all meetings with
staff, the applicant, and boards and commissions. Jennifer Cutler, MHA Environmental Planner,
will assist Mr. Anderson. Roger Luc, MHA Document Manager, will provide graphics and
production support as necessary. No other personnel or subcontractors will be used without the
consent of the City of Redwood City.

Assumptions

The estimated budget and schedule for the project are highly dependent on several factors.
MHA's proposal to provide planning and environmental services for the proposed project is
predicated on the following assumptions:

.

MHA will distribute required notices of environmental review to affected state and
federal agencies, and the City of Redwood City will be responsible for maintaining all
notice lists and mailings to neighbors and other interested parties

MHA will attend meetings with the staff, applicant, and public as outlined in Task 1; any
requests for attendance at additional meetings will be invoiced on a time and materials
basis

MHA will attend public meetings with the Architectural Review Committee, Planning
Commission, and City Council as outlined in Task 7; any requests for attendance at
additional public meetings will be invoiced on a time and materials basis

MHA may reallocate time and budget among the MHA team and among the identified
tasks without further approval by the City

All direction by the City to MHA to perform additional work or participate in additional
meetings shall be authorized in writing prior to MHA proceeding with the additional
task(s)

.

.

.

.

MHA looks forward to working with you and other City staff and the community on this exciting
project. Please contact me if you have any questions or require additional information.

Thank you for your consideration.

Dai
Irector of Environmental Services

Enclosure: Project Budget
