<br />DE nt 20/15/87 (#20) <br /> <br />RES 0 L UTI 0 N <br /> <br />N O. <br /> <br />10664 <br /> <br />OCT 1 9 1987 <br />ORIGINAL <br /> <br />RESOLUTION CONDITIONALLY RELIEVING APPARENT LOWEST <br />BIDDER FROM CONTRACT OBLIGATIONS FOR PURCHASE OF LIBRARY <br />FURNISHINGS (EXCLUDING READER TABLES AND CHAIRS) ; <br />DECLARING LOWEST RESPONSIBLE BIDDER THEREFOR AND <br />ACCEPTING BID THEREOF; AND RESCINDING RESOLUTION <br />NO. 10644 <br /> <br />WHEREAS, pursuant to Resolution No. 10644 adopted September <br /> <br />28, 1987, this Council accepted the bid dated September 8, 1987 of <br /> <br />Robert Morry, Inc. for the purchase of furnishings (other than <br /> <br />reader tables and chairs) for the City's new Main Library; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, subsequent thereto the said apparent lowest bidder <br /> <br />has requested to be relieved of its obligations under the contract <br /> <br />for the purchase of said furnishings; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, this council is willing to relieve said apparent <br /> <br />lowest bidder of said obligations upon the condition that it, or <br /> <br />its surety under the bid security furnished by said bidder, pay to <br /> <br />the City the difference between its bid and the bid of the lowest <br /> <br />responsible bidder hereinafter accepted; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />the <br /> <br />lowest <br /> <br />responsible <br /> <br />bidder <br /> <br />for <br /> <br />the <br /> <br />above-mentioned furnishings is Kelly Business Furniture with <br /> <br />offices in San Francisco and Sunnyvale, California, and it is the <br /> <br />intention and the desire of this Council to accept the bid <br /> <br />submitted by said company; <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE; <br /> <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY AS <br /> <br />FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />1. Upon payment to the City of Redwood City by Robert <br /> <br />Morry, Inc. or it surety, of an amount equal to the difference <br /> <br />10664 <br />
