<br />.OPOSED <br />wEAD POLICE CLSRK <br />Page 2 <br /> <br />prepares police reports as directed; processes warrants including <br />typing, logging, indexing, and checking for completeness and accuracy; <br />assists in processing. <br /> <br />REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES <br /> <br />Good clerical knowledge of the practices, policies, and procedures of <br />a law enforcement agency; good knowledge of office terminology, <br />procedures, equipment, and English usage, spelling, grammar, and <br />punctuation; ability to understand and follow complex oral and written <br />directions; ability to maintain complex clerical records and prepare <br />reports from such records; ability to make decisions in accordance with <br />laws, ordinances, regulations, and established policies; ability to <br />type from clear copy or rough draft at a net rate of 50 words per <br />minute; ability to lead the work of clerical employees; ability to train <br />clerical employees in the practices, procedures, and policies of the <br />police Department; ability to establish and maintain good public <br />relations and cooperative working relationships with other employees; <br />good physical condition. <br /> <br />EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING <br /> <br />Three years of clerical experience in a law enforcement agency and <br />completion of the twelfth grade with additional business training highly <br />desirable; or any equivalent combination of experience and training <br />which provides the required knowledge, ski~ls, and abilities. <br />
