<br />EXHIBIT "A" <br /> <br />CITY OF REDWOOD CITY <br /> <br />THERAPEUTIC PROGRAM COORDINATOR <br /> <br />DEFINITION <br /> <br />To coordinate and direct recreation programs for developmentally <br />disabled and physically limited young adult and adults and to <br />supervise part time employees and volunteers. <br /> <br />SUPERVISION RECEIVED AND EXERCISED <br /> <br />Receives general supervision from Recreation Center Supervisor. <br />Exercises direct supervision of part time employees and volunteers. <br /> <br />EXAMPLES OF DUTIES - Duties may include, but are not limited to, the <br />following: <br /> <br />Plan, implement, supervise recreation activities and outings within <br />a therapeutic proqram. <br /> <br />Write brochures and announcements explaining upcoming programs and <br />establish publicity techniques as required and appropriate to promote <br />accessible programs. <br /> <br />Network with agencies in the area: i.e. group, home, other <br />therapeutic recreation proqrams to incorporate them into our program. <br /> <br />Be responsible for facilities, scheduling, transportation and setup <br />of activities. <br /> <br />Working within the city's financial and budget systems, arrange <br />purchases and payments necessary for the therapeutic program. <br /> <br />QUALIFICATIONS <br /> <br />Knowledge of: <br /> <br />Interest and understanding of the needs of the developmentally <br />disabled and physically limited population. <br /> <br />Procedures for implementing a variety of recreational activities <br />and programs. <br /> <br />Activities geared to accessible recreation for both groups. <br /> <br />Page 1 of 2 <br /> <br />10507 <br />
