<br />CITY OF REDWOOD CITY <br />Parks, Recreation, and Community Services Director <br /> <br />Ability to: <br /> <br />Understand and design programs to meet the parks and recreation needs of <br />the community. <br /> <br />Prepare detailed reports, plans, and specifications, and do reliable <br />study and research as needed. <br /> <br />Properly interpret and make decision in accordance with appropriate <br />laws, regulations, and policies. <br /> <br />Maintain liaison with various private and public agencies, and deal <br />successfully with the public and other interrested groups. <br /> <br />Plan, direct, and coordinate comprehensive park and recreation <br />activities. <br /> <br />Select, supervise, train, and evaluate staff. <br /> <br />Meet appropriate physical demands necessary for adequate job <br />performance. <br /> <br />Experience and Education <br /> <br />Any combination equivalent to experience and education that could <br />likely provide the required knowledge and abilities would be <br />qualifying. A typical way to obtain the knowledge and abilities would <br />be: . <br /> <br />Experience: <br /> <br />Five years of increasingly responsible administrative experience <br />in parks and recreation program management. <br /> <br />Education <br /> <br />Equivalent to a Bacherlor's degree from an accredited college or <br />university with major work in public admininstration, recreation <br />administration, or a related field. A Master's degree is <br />desirable. <br /> <br />License or Certificate: <br /> <br />Posssession of a valid California Driver's License. <br />
