<br />~TTY OF ~EDWOOD CITY <br /> <br />Exhibit "c" <br /> <br />CITY ENGINEER <br /> <br />DEFINITION <br /> <br />To plan, organize, and direct City municipal engineering activities including <br />project, design, inspection, surveying, and subdivision revjew; to serve as <br />the City Engineer; and to provide high level professional and technical staff <br />assistance. <br /> <br />SUPERVISION RECEIVED AND EXERCISED <br /> <br />Administrative direction is provided by the Community Development Director. <br /> <br />Responsibilities include direct and indirect supervision of professional, <br />technical, and clerical positions. <br /> <br />EXAMPLES OF DUTIES - Duties may include, but are not limited to, the <br />following: . <br /> <br />~ <br />, ,.. ~ <br /> <br />Direct and participate in the development and implementation of goals, <br />objectives, policies and procedures. <br /> <br />Plan, direct, and review all municipal engineering activities including <br />design, surveying and inspection. <br /> <br />Plan, direct and review transportation, parking, and traffic engineering <br />activities. <br /> <br />Review and approve subdivision maps and parcel maps. <br /> <br />Serve as technical advisor on development, engineering, and traffic matters. <br /> <br />Participate in the supervision, development, and implementation of the <br />capital improvement program. <br /> <br />Respond to and resolve difficult citizen inquiries and complaints. <br /> <br />Evaluate and recommend professional engineering consultants and contracts. <br /> <br />Coordinate public works activities with other City departments and with <br />outside agencies. <br /> <br />Have custody of and be responsible for all maps, plans, profiles, and other <br />records belonging to the City. <br /> <br />Perform related duties as assigned. <br /> <br />Serve as Director of Public Works when that title is referenced in connection <br />with duties otherwise assumed by the City Engineer. <br />
