<br />CITY OF REDWOOD CITY <br />City Engineer (Continued) <br /> <br />QUALIFICATIONS <br /> <br />Knowledge of: <br /> <br />Principles and practices of engineering and administration as applied to <br />the design and construction of public works facilities. <br /> <br />Methods, materials and techniques employed in public works construction. <br /> <br />Recent developments, current literature, and sources of information <br />regarding civil engineering. <br /> <br />Principles of organization, administration, budget and personnel <br />management. <br /> <br />Ability to: <br /> <br />Organize, direct, and coordinate the activities of City engineering <br />activities. <br /> <br />Delegate authority and responsibility; schedule and program work. <br /> <br />Supervise, train, and evaluate subordinates. <br /> <br />Meet appropriate physical demands necessary for adequate job <br />performance. <br /> <br />Experience and Education <br /> <br />Any combination equivalent to experience and education that could likely <br />provide the required knowledge and abilities would be qualifying. A <br />typical way to obtain the knowledge and abilities would be: <br /> <br />Experience: <br /> <br />Seven years of professional engineering and administration <br />experience in the field of civil engineering. <br /> <br />Education: <br /> <br />Equivalent to a Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or <br />university with major coursework in civil engineering. <br /> <br />License or Certificate <br /> <br />Possession of a certificate of registration as a professional civil <br />engineer in the State of California. <br /> <br />Possession of a valid California Driver's License. <br />
