<br />November 1986 <br /> <br />CITY OF REDWOOD CITY <br /> <br />RECREATION PROGRAM COORDINATuK <br /> <br />EXHIBIT "A" <br /> <br />DEFINITION <br /> <br />To coordinate and direct recreation programs; and to participate in the super- <br />vision of part-time employees. <br /> <br />SUPERVISION RECEIVED AND EXERCISED <br /> <br />Received general supervision from Recreation Supervisor. <br /> <br />Exercises direct supervision of part-time employees. <br /> <br />EXAMPLES OF DUTIES - Duties may include, but are not limited to the following: <br /> <br />Plan, develop, supervise, and carry out specialized recreation activities <br />within a recreation program. <br /> <br />Coordinate, promote, and implement recreation activities. <br /> <br />Hire and supervise instructors; initiate and send out instructor contracts and <br />payments. <br /> <br />Assist in organlzlng and scheduling leisure time activities such as cultural <br />arts, self-help classes, sports events, and senior citizen programs. <br /> <br />Supervise and train clerical personnel in registration procedures. <br /> <br />Prepare and coordinate the development of publicity, including new releases, <br />flyers, pamphlets, and brochures. <br /> <br />Design and produce graphic art material for department. <br />Schedule work hours for part-time staff. <br /> <br />Assist with the development of the registration and self-supporting class fund <br />budgets. <br /> <br />Respond to inquiries regarding classes, instructors, and registration. <br /> <br />Perform related duties as may be assigned. <br /> <br />QUALIFICATIONS <br /> <br />Knowledge of: <br /> <br />Procedures for implementing a variety of recreational activities and <br />programs. <br /> <br />Program content for specialized community recreation activities. <br /> <br />Personnel management principles, practices, and techniques including <br />methods for selection, supervision, and training; principles and <br />practices of budgeting. <br /> <br />Common recreational, cultural, and social needs of community. <br />
