<br />CITY OF REDWOOD CITY <br />Recreation Program Coordinator (Cont'd.) <br /> <br />Ability to: <br /> <br />Coordinate, organize, and implement recreation and leisure time <br />activities. <br /> <br />Use graphic art and compositional skills to prepare and distribute <br />publicity concerning new or on-going recreation offerings. <br /> <br />Select, train, and supervise~ part-time employees and instructors. <br /> <br />Understand community needs in a variety of recreation areas and evaluate <br />activities according to those needs. <br /> <br />Identify methods to maximize service effectiveness and efficiency. <br /> <br />Communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing. <br /> <br />Establish and maintain effective work relationships with those contacted <br />in the performance or required duties. <br /> <br />Learn computer operations and methods. <br />Physical Characteristics <br />Must be in sufficiently good health to perform job duties. <br /> <br />Experience and Education <br /> <br />Any combination equivalent to experience and education that would likely <br />provide the required knowledge and abilities would be qualifying. A <br />typical way to obtain the knowledge and abilities would be: <br /> <br />Experience: <br /> <br />Two years of responsible work experience in recreation involving <br />program planning and supervision. Some experience in graphic art is <br />desirable. <br /> <br />Education: <br /> <br />Equivalent to a Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or <br />university with major work in recreation, public administration, or <br />related field. <br /> <br />License or Certificate <br /> <br />Possession of, or ability to obtain, an appropriate, valid California Driver's <br />License. <br />
