(a) The Council of Redwood City hereby <br /> <br /> <br />proposes, on its own motion, to amend the Charter of the City of <br /> <br />Redwood City by amending Sections 21 and 31 thereof to read as <br /> <br /> <br />follows: <br /> <br />(1) Amend Section 21 to read as follows: <br /> <br />"Section 21. OFFICERS AND BOARDS: <br /> <br /> <br />liThe administrative officers and boards shall be <br /> <br /> <br />the City Manager, City Clerk, Director of Public Works, <br /> <br />Chief of Police, Chief of Fire Department, Director of <br /> <br /> <br />Finance, City Attorney and such other officers and <br /> <br /> <br />boards or commissions as may be hereafter established. <br /> <br /> <br />liThe City Manager, City Attorney, -Director of <br /> <br />Einance, and the City Clerk, shall be appointed by the <br /> <br />Council and the removal of any of them shall be only on <br /> <br />the affirmative vote of five-sevenths (5/7ths) of all <br /> <br /> <br />members of the City Council. <br /> <br />II All other officers and employees shall be <br /> <br /> <br />appointed by the city manager and shall hold office or <br /> <br /> <br />position at his or her pleasure.
