EXHIBIT "E"

CITY OF REDWOOD CITY
COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT DEPARTMENT

MEMO

JUL 1 6 1SGI1

DATE: JULY 16, 1986
TO: SGT. MIKE TURTURICI, POLICE DEPARTMENT
FROM: DEBBI JONES-THOMAS, HOUSING COORDINATOR
SUBJECT: EXTERIOR INSPECTION AT 1911 ALAMEDA

~

On July 15, 1986 I accompained you; Dick Schouten, Asst. City Attorney; Mike
Wheelwright, Zoning Division; Jim Yuen, Evironmental Health Department; Jerry
Schnell, Building Division and Rod Santos, Fire Department to the above
mentioned property. The following conditions were observed and determined
to be a public nuisance as defined by the Uniform Housing Code, Section 401.

There was an excessive number of bags of garbage, many which had been previously
bagged, split then rebagged, both on the outside and inside the dwelling.
Excessive overgrowth, newspapers at almost compost stage, aluminum cans,
bottles, motors, a scrapped motorcycle, etc. create an unsafe environment for
neighboring residences as well as creating a rat harborage.

Areas inside the dwelling, which were visible from the many broken windows,
were filled with excessive storage of combustible materials. Ceilings
were noted to be falling, insulation hanging and ceiling plaster stacked
on top of other debris in the floors. Stair rails at rear deck were also
noted as loose and unsafe.

The above described conditions create a serious health and fire safety problem
which should be abated immediately. Furthermore, the structural integrity
of the dwelling should be inspected as soon as the Nuisance has been abated.

DJT/ko
