<br />SWC:sh 7/03/86 <br /> <br />10245 <br /> <br />ORlG \ NAL <br />JUL 7 1986 <br /> <br />RES 0 L UTI 0 N <br /> <br />N O. <br /> <br />RESOLUTION CONDEMNING ABANDONED BUILDING <br />BREWSTER AVENUE AS A PUBLIC NUISANCE AND <br />RECONSTRUCTION OR REMOVAL THEREOF <br /> <br />AT 851 <br />DIRECTING <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Building Department of this City has determined <br /> <br />that the empty building which is located at 851 Brewster Avenue <br /> <br />is a public nuisance as defined by Section 9.5 of the Redwood <br /> <br />City Code; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Building Department has given notice to the <br /> <br />owners of the building at 851 Brewster Avenue, as evidenced by <br /> <br />Exhibit A, to appear before this City Council to show cause, if <br /> <br />any, why such building should not be declared to be a public <br /> <br />nuisance and abated in accordance with the provisions of Chapter <br /> <br />9 of the Redwood City Code; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, this Council has received evidence that the <br /> <br />building at 851 Brewster Avenue has become abandoned and <br /> <br />constitutes an attractive nuisance and hazard to the public in <br /> <br />violation of Section 9.6 of the Redwood City Code; <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE; <br /> <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY, <br /> <br />AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />1. The building at 851 Brewster Avenue is determined to be <br /> <br />a public nuisance as defined in Section 9.5 of the Redwood City <br /> <br />Code, based on the following findings: <br /> <br />(a) The bui lding , <br /> <br />has become unsecured, <br /> <br />thereby <br /> <br />creating the possibility of harboring vagrants. The <br /> <br />building was not intended for human habitation, and, as a <br /> <br />10245 <br />
