<br />SWC:sh 7/03/86 <br /> <br />result of deterioration and neglect, is unfit for such use. <br />( ~ 9 . 5 (a) ( 11) and (14)). <br />(b) The building has been declared to be a fire hazard <br />by the Fire Marshal (~9.5(a) (15); also ~9.5(b)). <br />(c) The marquee has become structurally unsafe and is <br />likely to become dislodged or collapse, rendering the <br />entire area manifestly unsafe (~9.5(b) (f) and (8)). <br />(d) The building has been abandoned for a period in <br />excess of six (6) months ; its continued dilapidation has <br />been the subject of numerous City Council discussions, <br />spanning a period of several years; the owners have made <br />inconsistent attempts at monitoring the building, but such <br />attempts have been ineffectual and lately non-existent. The <br />recurring nature of the code violations, and the continuing <br />deterioration of the building have rendered it an attractive <br />nuisance and a hazard to the public (~9.5(a) (17)). <br />2. The owners of the building at 851 Brewster Avenue are <br />hereby directed to abate such public nuisance within thirty (30) <br />days from the date of this hearing by either (a) properly <br />constructing or repairing such building or (b) razing or removing <br />such building. <br />3. The owners of such building are hereby notified that <br />unless the owners abate such nuisance within such thirty (30) day <br />period the building will be razed or removed by the City and all <br />expenses thereof shall be made a lien on property at 851 Brewster <br />Avenue (APN 052-324-010) in accordance with the provisions of <br />Section 9.8 of the Redwood City Code. <br /> <br />* <br /> <br />* <br /> <br />* <br /> <br />2 <br />
