Box 391 <br /> Redwood City, CA 94064 <br /> <br /> Re: Proposal for Professional Services <br /> City of Redwood City Branch Library in Redwood Shores <br /> Needs Assessment, Programming and Design <br /> <br /> Anderson Brul~ Architects, Inc. (ABA) is pleased to submit this proposal for strategic planning, facilitatiun, and <br /> architectural and nominal engineering consultant services to develop the documentation necessary to submit a grant <br /> application to the State of California. <br /> <br />Approach and Methodology <br /> The Consultant Team will work collaboratively with the Core Team, with oversight and approval as structured in the <br /> City of Redwood City Approval Process, to develop a conceptual understanding of the new branch library's services <br /> and operations, qualitative and quantitative space and functional requirements, cost and schedule to develop the <br /> documentation required for grant applications by the Library Bond Act of 2000. The process is intended to be <br /> inclusive, and explore projected needs, opportumties and constxaints with the community, stakeholders, potential <br /> parmers and staff. The Library Bond Act of 2000 Regulations and Application Requirements will guide the , <br /> approach, methodology and documentation of the effort. <br /> <br />Scope of Basic Services <br /> Two phases of work are necessary to achieve the intended outcome: Phase 1 includes development of a Library <br /> Needs Assessment, Plan of Service and Building Program, and Phase 2 includes the Conceptual Design and Bond <br /> Application Process. Both phases of work will be performed and documented s required by the Library Bond Act <br /> 2000 Regulations. <br /> <br /> Components of each phase, as well as the interrelationships of elements and the review and approval process, are <br /> diagrammed in a process map, attached to this proposal. The map is organized and reads from left to right. Process <br /> participants are grouped into categories and located in the first 'column' at the extreme left of the map. Column <br /> headings, read from left to right across the top of the map, indicate categories of activity that build upon each other. <br /> Each of the activities, included in a box that is related to active process participants through position on a 'row', is <br /> fed by and/or feeds another activity represented through a directional arrow.
