EXHIBIT "A" <br /> beals <br />Revised December 14, 2000 .sports .collaborative <br />November 10, 2000 <br /> <br />Mr. Peter Gdffiths <br />City of Redwood City <br />1017 Middlefield Road <br />Redwood City, CA 94064 <br /> <br />RE: Completion of DESIGN AND ENGINEERING SERVICES <br /> HOOVER SCHOOL PARK SPORT FIELD IMPROVEMENT PROJECT <br /> Beals Sports Collaborative PROPOSAL No.: P00-63 <br /> <br />Dear Peter, <br /> <br />In response to your request, Beals Sports Collaborative is pleased to submit the following <br />proposal to provide Site Design and Engineering Services on the above-referenced project. This <br />proposal reflects the Scope of Work required to provide the City with the sand-based sport field <br />improvements. The tentative schedule calls for the final documents to be completed Summer <br />2001, and project construction and completion to occur at an undetermined point in the future. <br /> <br />PROJECT UNDERSTANDING / HISTORY: <br />The City of Redwood City is proposing to retain the firm of Beals Sports Collaborative, to provide <br />landscape architectural and civil engineering design services for the renovation of fields at Hoover <br />School Park. The Sport Field Improvement Project - Phase II arose from a phone conversation <br />and subsequent site visit with Peter Griffiths, City Parks and Recreation Director in December <br />1999. At present the turf fields have inadequate drainage and unsafe play conditions. The <br />preliminary construction budget and basis for the following scope is $1,994,300 for Hoover School <br />Park, including contingencies for design modifications and construction, but excluding design fees. <br />This budget includes sand-based turf field design for all turf field areas and perimeter <br />improvements for pathways, fencing, and landscaping. <br /> <br />GENERAL PROJECT SCOPE: <br />The project scope herein provided will be broken into four general phases: <br /> <br /> 1. The first will be Project Start-up and Pro-planning Phase, in which we will meet with <br /> City Staff and begin reviewing all information pertinent to the project. Existing <br /> Conditions bases will be generated by Beals Sports Collaborative, for the Analysis <br /> and Design Phase. <br /> 2. The second phase will be an Analysis and Design Phase, in which we will prepare <br /> final design boards for approval through public process. One public workshop, <br /> along with City staff reviews, will enable Beals Sports Collaborative to develop <br /> Preliminary Concept Graphic Boards, Final Concept Plans, and the Final Schematic <br /> Design Boards, which will be submitted for public approval.
