<br /><:,r'l7C:sh 3/20/86 <br /> <br />RES 0 L UTI 0 N <br /> <br />N O. <br /> <br />10165 <br /> <br />ORIGINAL <br />MAR 2 4 1986 <br /> <br />---------- <br /> <br />RESOLUTION CONDEMNING BUILDING AT 808 WALNUT STREET AS <br />A PUBLIC NUISANCE AND DIRECTING RECONSTRUCTION OR REMOVAL <br />THEREOF <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Building Department of this City has determined <br /> <br />that the dwelling unit which is located at 808 Walnut Street is a <br /> <br />public nuisance as defined by Section 9.5 of the Redwood City <br /> <br />Code because the building and premises are in an extremely <br /> <br />dilapidated and hazardous condition; the lack of foundation, <br /> <br />weather protection, decay, accumulation of garbage and debris and <br /> <br />inadequate maintenance have resulted in hazardous conditions; the <br /> <br />building has been frequently broken into and occupied by <br /> <br />transients; and it has been determined to be unfit for human <br /> <br />habitation and is unsanitary; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Building Department has given notice to the <br /> <br />owners of the building at 808 Walnut Street, as evidenced by the <br /> <br />attached "Exhibit A", to appear before this City Council to show <br /> <br />cause, if any, why such building should not be declared to be a <br /> <br />public nuisance and abated in accordance with the provisions of <br /> <br />Chapter 9 of the Redwood City Code; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, this Council has received extensive evidence that <br /> <br />the building at 808 Walnut Street has become dilapidated and has <br /> <br />numerous code violations; <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE; <br /> <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY, <br /> <br />AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />10165 <br />
