CusmoProf Store at 2652 Broadway, Redwood City Dear Mayor Claire, Vice Mayor Ira and Councilmembers: This fu'm represents Innovations-Successful Salon Servieas, [ne., ("Innovations") regarding Innovations' appeal of an August 9, 2002 determination by Tom Passanisi, Principal Planner for the City of Redwood City (the "City"), as set forth in the above-referenced Agenda Item. Despite issuance of both a building permit and a business license, Mr. Passanini detemained that Innovations may not open its CosmoProf store at 2652 Broadway (the "Property"). For the reasons set forth below, we respectfully request that you reverse this deter'ruination. 1. ,CosmoProf is consistent with the poUeies, goals and objectives of th~ Redwood City General Plan. The Redwood City General Plan (the "Plan") sets forth policies, goals and objectives for the land use and economic elements of Redwood City. CosmoProf furthers these objectives and is in harmony with the Plan. Land Use Objective 2. This objective of the Plan is to "encourage development and growth downtown as one of the City's major commercial areas, and allow improvement of conveniently-sited satellite shopping areas." CusmoProfs presence in the proposed location furthers this objective, as more completely described above, by bringing an established, well- managed business to the downtown area.and generating economic prosperity for the sun'otlllding businesses.
