There would be a lot more traffic at the intersection between the school and
Shearwater.
The solution: the developers moved the intersection of the school to the North;

3. Playing fields of school available to people during off times.
The solution: the three acre city park proposed on the side of ball fields with picnic area,
BBQ, and tennis courts.

A break was taken to give the public a chance to write down items regarding:
Neighborhood benefits/impacts
Redwood Shores benefits/impacts
Redwood City benefits/impacts

PUBLIC HEARING
Lawrence Pon, Redwood Shores resident, is in full support of the location of the school.

Joe Foust, resident and member of New Shores School Committee, stated that schools
in Redwood City are overcrowded and Redwood Shores could use another school. He
would like a timeline put in place.

John Murphy, Redwood City resident, is in favor of the Area H development.

Pat Dixon, Redwood Shores resident, would like to see the widening of Shearwater and
there should be a diagram of the drop-off area of the school in the EIR.

Mary Morrissey Parden, Redwood City resident, stated that the EIR should manage
peak periods of auto access and consider wood planking in the gym with the basketball
courts.

Bonnie Wolf, Redwood City resident, is in support of the Area "H" development.
Additional housing and a school facility is needed. Also, traffic is a concern.

Bob Black, Redwood City resident, stated that the population and housing is the largest
high density development within Redwood City and can create social problems.

Michael Gibson, Redwood Shores Owners Association New Construction Committee,
stated that they need to know the impacts of housing projects on surrounding areas.
There are also attractive housing projects on both sides.

Philip Nettle, Redwood Shores resident, stated that the one of the most critical planning
issues that must be addressed in the EIR is proper design of the perimeter of the
planned residential neighborhood. This will assure that there's an appropriate transition
towards the eXisting residential development and the natural preserve.
