<br />EXHIBIT "An <br /> <br />crn OF REIJ.mi) CITY <br /> <br />SUPERINTENDENT OF PUBLIC WORKS <br /> <br />DEFINITIOI.'i <br /> <br />To plan, direct, supervise and review the activities of either the Public Works <br />Engineering or Naintenance and Operations Division; and to provide professional <br />and teclmical staff assis tance. <br /> <br />SUPERVISION RECEIVED AiID EXERCISED <br /> <br />General direction is provided by the Public Works Director/City Engineer. <br /> <br />Responsibilities include direct and indirect supervision of professional and <br />technical positions. . <br /> <br />EXAMPLES OF DUITES <br /> <br />Uuties may include, but are not limited to, the follCMing: <br /> <br />Engineering <br /> <br />Supervise, coordinate and review all 'pUblic ~rks engineering activities <br />including engineering design, the capital improvemmt program, inspection and <br />survey, contract administration, plan review, and engineering records managernent. <br /> <br />Detennine scope of engineering projects, review plans of private contractors, <br />make technical engineering decisions and establish teclmical criteria and <br />standards . <br /> <br />Review engineering drawings. <br />Attend Plan Review Coomittee and Planning Cornnission rreetings. <br /> <br />Haintenance & Operations <br /> <br />P.lon, organize, schedule, and direct the 'WOrk of the water, ?UIrp, street, sewer, <br />and traffic maintenance sections. <br /> <br />Inspect and operate the City's water distribution system. <br />Confer with Public v10rks Supervisors in scheduling and assigning personnel. <br /> <br />Periodically inspect work in progress and upon corrpletion to ensure conformance <br />with st.andards. <br /> <br />Establish work priorities in construction and mrintenance work. <br />Establish and UBintain supervisory, safety, and technical training program:;. <br />
