<br />'- I <br /> <br />... <br /> <br />CI'lY OF RElUXD CITY <br />Superintendent of Public Works <br /> <br />2. <br /> <br />GENERAL <br /> <br />Participate in the develOIJISlt and iIq>1ena1tation of goals, objectives, policies, <br />procedures, and priorities. <br /> <br />In the absence of the Director, attend and participate in treetings and conferences <br />with the City Council, City boards and coomissions, depart:Irent administrators, <br />public officials, professional organizations, contractors, the City f1anager's <br />Office, and Colmty, Regional and State regulatory agencies regarding matters <br />relating to areas of assigned responsibilities. <br /> <br />Supervise and participate in the preparation and administration of the capital <br />iIq>rovem:mt plan and budget and division's operating budget. <br /> <br />Prepare a variety of reports, correspondence and special studies. <br /> <br />Respond to difficult citizen inquiries and canplaints by answering or seeing <br />that necessary action is taken. <br /> <br />Select, supervise, train and evaluate subordinate staff. <br /> <br />Serve as Acting Public Vk>rks Director/City Engineer as assigned. <br /> <br />Coordinate ~rk of the Division with related City depart::IIents, private contractors, <br />and other public agencies. <br /> <br />Resolve w:>rk problems and interpret administrative policies to subordinates, <br />other depart:I1:e1ts and the public. <br /> <br />Perform related duties ~ assigned. <br /> <br />QJALIFICATICN> <br />Knowledge of: <br /> <br />Principles and practices of civil engineering and administration as applied to <br />the design, coostrUCtion and maintenance of public works facilities, technical <br />inspection services, plan review, and other areas. <br /> <br />Applicable laws and regulatory codes related to developrrent and construCtion <br />of public lo;lOrks. <br /> <br />Recent developnents, current literature and sources of infoIlIBtion regarding <br />civil engineering.. <br /> <br />Principles of organization, administration, budget and personnel managaIB'lt. <br /> <br />Materials, equipue1t, procedures, and practices used in the design, construction, <br />operation, maintenance, and repair of a m.mi.cipal water distribution system. <br />
