6.1 F <br /> Page 39 <br /> intent of thi5 informal meeting that at teast one personal <br /> conference be hetd between the aggrieved employee and <br /> �he Captain. <br /> 17.3.2 Level II - Formal Written Grievance <br /> 17.3.2.1 If the grievance is no� settled during the informal <br /> conference and the grievant wishes to press the matter, <br /> the grievant shail present the grievance in writing on the <br /> appropriate farm to �he Chief c�f PoHce within ten (10} da�s <br /> after the oral decision by the immediate supervisor. The <br /> written 9nformatiQn shatt include: (a) A descriptian of the <br /> specific grounds of the �rievance, including names, dates, <br /> and �laces necessary far a ccmplete u��ers�anding of the <br /> grievance; (b) A listing of the provisions of this MOU which <br /> are atleged to have been vioiated; (c) A listing of the <br /> reasons why the immediate supervisor's proposed resolution <br /> of the problem is unacceptable; and {d) A listing af specific <br /> actions requested of the City which will remedy the <br /> grievance. <br /> 17.3.2.2 The Chief of Police shalt communicate the decision to the <br /> grievant in writing within ten (10) days after receiving the <br /> grievance. If the Chief of Police does not resportd within <br /> the time limits, the grievant may appeal to the next tevel. <br /> �7.3.2.3 Wifhin the above time limits either party may request a <br /> personal conference. <br /> 17.3.Z.4 Prior to determining the tevel of disciptine to be taken on <br /> alleged violations of City or Department ruies and/or <br /> regulations, the Chief or his designee wilL• <br /> 1. Ascertain if the represented emptoyee wishes the <br /> Association ta intervene on their behalf prior to the <br /> decision bein� made by the Chief as to level of <br /> discipline. <br /> 2. In those cases where intervention is not desired, the <br /> Chiefs decision wilt be made without Association <br /> intervention. Denial of Association involvement at this <br /> level does not affect any other part of the grievance <br /> procedure contained in this MOU. <br /> 36 <br />
