The City anc4 POA have been <br /> negotiating over the last �ighteen months to reach an agreement on the #erms and <br /> conditions of a new MOU. The parties have reached a tentative agreement on a new <br /> N10U. As part of the new agreement, the PDA has agreed to a ane-year salary freeze in <br /> the first year of the three-year contract. The follawing is a summary of the tentative <br /> agreernents subject to council approval: <br /> Term: <br /> Sep#ember 1, 2Q05 thraugh August 31, 2008 <br /> SalaN: <br /> Year 1: 0% (forsgoing 4.21% increase in first year of contract based on median} <br /> Year 2: 8.91% increase based on median. <br /> Year 3: Mean or m�dian (whichev2r is greater--est'imated at 4%) <br /> Uniform Allowance: <br /> Effective the first year of the confiract, the City wili increase annual boot allowance to <br /> $125.00 ($25_QO annual increase per empfoyee). <br /> Holidavs: <br /> Effective the fiirst year of the contract,the City will add one additional holiday(Christmas <br /> Eve). <br /> Sick Leave: <br /> Effective the first year of the contract, the City wifl increase accrual af sick leave from 8 <br /> to 10 hours per month. <br /> Denta(: <br /> Effective January 1, 2007, the City will increase the dental and orthodontic benefit <br /> maximums to $2a00 annually and $1500 fifetime, respectively. The current annual <br /> maximum is $1,000 and orthodontic lifetime maximum is currently$600. <br /> _ <br />
