18.2.3 For employees whose limited duty arrangement calls for less than <br /> the regular number of hours worked per payroll period, the hours <br /> actually worked will be shown as regular time on the time card, <br /> and the remaining hours (the difference between hours actually <br /> worked and hours normally scheduled) charged bo the appropriate <br /> leave. For persons expected to be on a less-than-normal schedule <br /> for more than thirty (30) days, the depa~b'.ent will initiate a <br /> personnel action form edJusting accrual rates of such work <br /> schedule-related beneffcs as vacation and sick leave. When the <br /> individual returns bo his/her regular work schedule, the de. pa, b,,ent <br /> will initiate another personnel action form bo return accrual rates bo <br /> normal; however, b'~re will be no adJt~,,ent of balances as a <br /> result of an accrual rate change. <br /> <br /> 18.2.4 The duty limitations spedfied by the treating physidan must be <br /> stflcfly adhered bo when making work assignments. As appropriate, <br /> suggested assignments might indude performing fire inspections <br /> and routine maintenance, compiling data and statistics, organizing <br /> training programs and evolutions, and the like. <br /> <br /> 18.2.5 Umited duty assignments should be such that there is minimum <br /> dsk of further injury or aggravation. <br /> <br />18.3 Emi'ced Duty Work During Pregnancy <br /> <br /> 18.3.1 An employee who is pregnant shall report her condition immediately <br /> aRer diagnosis is made bo the on-duty Battalion Chief. If the <br /> diagnosis has not been certified by a physician, the employee has <br /> thirty (30) days to provide the deparl~nent with a medical diagnosis. <br /> <br /> ].8.3.2 tn the instance that pregnancy is confirmed, the employee has the <br /> following options: <br /> <br /> 18.3.2.1 The employee may work light duty if her attending <br /> physidan determines light duty to be appropriate, or <br /> if the employee so desires. ]f the attending <br /> physidan recommends light duty the employee will <br /> need bo have her physidan fill out a work status <br /> report. [t is the employee's responsibility bo insure <br /> that the work status report is completed by the <br /> physidan and retumed promptly to the shi~c Battalion <br /> Chief. ' <br /> <br /> 18.3.2.2 The employee may use earned sick leave in <br /> accordance with Section 18.9, or eamed vacation <br /> leave if her physidan certifies that she is unable to <br /> perform her full or light duty work. <br /> <br /> 33 <br /> <br /> <br />
