classification of Firefighter or Captain may be eligible for a salary <br /> increase at twelve-month intervals between steps to the maximum <br /> top step upon consideration of such employee's performance of <br /> duties, experience, education, personal fitness for the position, and <br /> other criteria reasonably related to awarding increased <br /> compensation on the basis of merit. Adjustments shall be made at <br /> the recommendation of the Fire Chief and approved by the City <br /> Manager. <br /> <br />The status quo shall be maintained regarding the payment of FLSA overtime. The City <br />shall also maintain the status quo on the payment of regular overtime as prescribed in <br />Section 7.6 of the current MOU. <br /> <br />7.3 Captain Compaction Adjustment <br /> <br /> Effective the first of the pay period closest to .lanuary 1, 1998, Captain's <br /> salaries shall be increased by 5%. <br /> <br />7.4 Work ~chedule <br /> <br /> The regular workweek for employees in the classification of Fire Fighter and <br /> Captain shall be fifty-six (56) hours on existing work schedules. The work <br /> schedule shall consist of eight (8) twenty-four (24) hour on-duty periods within <br /> a twenty-four (24) day cycle to be worked in accordance with the following <br /> chart: <br /> <br /> X = 24 hour on-duty period <br /> 0 = 24 hour off-duty period <br /> <br /> XOXOXOXOOOOXOXOXOXOOOOOO <br /> <br />7.5 Starting Time <br /> <br /> The regular starting time for Fire Fighters and Captains scheduled for a fifty-six <br /> (56) hour workweek shall be 8:00 A.M. <br /> <br />7,6 Overtime <br /> 7.6.1 Fifty-six (56) Hour Workweek Employees <br /> <br /> Overtime for employees in the classifications of Fire Fighter and Fire <br /> Captain is authorized time worked beyond the regular scheduled <br /> workweek in Section 7.4. Overtime shall be compensated at one <br /> and one-half (1-1/2) times the employee's regular rate of pay for <br /> any time worked beyond a Rre Rghter or Rre Captains regular <br /> twenty-four (24) hour work shift. Payment for overtime shall not be <br /> made unless such overtime has been authorized by the Fire Chief, <br /> or designated representative, prior to such overtime being worked. <br /> <br /> 11 <br /> <br /> <br />
