SECTJ~ON 11 - PROBA'I'ZONARY PERZOD <br /> <br />11.1 New Employees <br /> <br /> An employee shall serve a probationary period of eighteen (18) months. The <br /> probationary period for all employees includes a six (6) months driver/operator <br /> training and evaluation program. Upon satisfactory completion of such <br /> probationary period, the employee shall be appointed as a regular employee of <br /> the City. <br /> <br /> During the probationary period, an employee shall be required to pass physical <br /> and manipulative skills tests, and written examinations on job related <br /> information, which will be supplied to the employee. <br /> <br /> A probationary employee shall read and discuss his/her monthly performance <br /> reports with his/her Company Officer before such reports become part of the <br /> employee's employment record. <br /> <br /> An employee may be separated from City service at any time during the <br /> probationary pedod without right of appeal or hearing as specified in Section <br /> 14.3 of this MOU. <br /> <br />11.2 Promotional Probation <br /> <br /> All promotional appointments shall be tentative and subject to a probationary <br /> period of six (6) months of service from the date of appointment. During the <br /> probationary period, an employee may be rejected at any time by the City <br /> IVlanager upon recommendation of the Fire Chief. Any regular employee <br /> rejected during the probationary period following a promotional appointment <br /> shall be reinstated to the position from which he/she was promoted, unless <br /> conditions warrant his/her dismissal. <br /> <br /> Upon satisfactory completion of such probationary period, the employee shall <br /> be appointed to a regular position in that classification. <br /> <br /> SECTION 12- STATZON BI'DDTNG <br /> <br />The bidding procedure presently in effect shall continue dudng the term of this MOU <br />unless the parties mutually agree to modify the procedure. <br /> <br /> SEC'i/ON 13 - PROIqOT/ON <br /> <br />13.1 Examination <br /> <br /> ]:n the event the City desires to fill a vacancy by promotion, the Human <br /> Resources Director shall prepare and administer an examination for those <br /> employees holding similar positions in lower classes. <br /> <br /> 23 <br /> <br /> <br />
