AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE COUNTY OF SAN MATEO, TiqE CITY OF <br /> REDWOOD CITY, REDWOOD CITY ELEMENTARY SCHOOL DISTRICT <br /> AND SEQUOIA UNION HIGH SCHOOL DISTRICT <br /> (Redwood City 2020) <br /> <br />THIS AGREEMENT, entered into this day of ,2002 <br />(The "Agreement") by and between the COUNTY OF SAN MATEO, a political subdivision of <br />the State of California, ("County"); the CITY OF REDWOOD CITY, a municipal corporation of <br />the State of California, ("City"); REDWOOD CITY ELEMENTARY SCHOOL DISTRICT, an <br />elementary school district, ("Elementary School District"); and SEQUOIA UNION HIGH <br />SCHOOL DISTRICT, a high school district, ("High School District"); all of which entities are <br />referred to collectively as "the Parties." <br /> <br /> WITNESSETH: <br /> <br />WHEREAS, it is necessary and desirable that the Parties enter into an agreement to establish <br />Redwood City 2020 ("RC 2020") to provide oversight to multiple collaborative programs <br />designed to improve the health and quality of life in Redwood City and to provide a forum for <br />collaborative needs assessment and community planning based on the National Civic League <br />Healthy Communities Model. <br /> <br />NOW THEREFORE, IN CONSIDERATION OF THE MUTUAL COVENANTS AND <br />CONDITIONS CONTAINED HEREIN, THE PARTIES AGREE AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br /> 1. PURPOSE <br /> <br /> The Parties are entering into the Agreement to provide assistance and allow the <br /> establishment of the RC 2020 program. RC 2020 exists for two major purposes: <br /> <br /> A. To provide a forum wherein representatives of public entities can work together <br /> and with members of the private sector, business and the community at large to <br /> improve the quality of life in Redwood City. <br /> <br /> B. To provide oversight to the work of ongoing collaborative within the city that are <br /> working toward quality of life improvements. <br /> <br />2. TERM <br /> <br /> This Agreement shall be effective as of July 1, 2002 and shall continue-in effect through <br /> June 30, 2003. <br /> <br />3. TERMINATION <br /> <br /> Any party may withdraw from this Agreement by giving the other Parties sixty (60) days <br /> prior written notice. The rights and obligations of the terminating party expire sixty (60) <br /> days after notice is given; provided that any monetary obligations outstanding upon the <br /> expiration date shall survive until discharged. <br /> <br /> <br />
