November 18, 2002 <br /> <br />Subject <br />Redwood City - San Mateo County Chamber of Commeme Agreement <br /> <br />Recommendation <br />Approve and Authorize the City Manager to Execute the Agreement between the City of <br />Redwood City and the Redwood City - San Mateo County Chamber of Commeme for <br />fiscal year 2002/2003. <br /> <br />Background <br />For many years, the City of Redwood City (City) and the Redwood City - San Mateo <br />County Chamber of Commerce (Chamber) have had a strong working relationship. The <br />City has partnered with the Chamber for over fifteen years for the maintenance and <br />improvement of the economy of the City of Redwood City by general promotion and <br />development of local industry and commerce in the City. During the past several years, the <br />Chamber has consistently met or exceeded its contractual objectives. Please see the <br />attached year end report. The Chamber played a critical role in the creation of the City's <br />Economic Development Strategy, has partnered with the City and the Redwood City <br />School District to achieve school excellence and create school libraries, and has now <br />completed its fourteenth year of the Leadership Redwood City-Belmont-San Carlos <br />program.
