Local groundwater is
currently used by a limited number of private well owners for domestic and irrigation uses.
The City does not include groundwater as a source of supply in its 2005 UWMP.

Summary of Current and Planned Water Supplies
Table 2 identifies the existing and planned water supplies available for Redwood City from
2005 to 2030 in five-year increments.

----
Table 2
Current and Planned Water Supplies (af/yr)
Water Supply Sources 2005 2010 2015 2020 2025 2030
.. -
SFPUC Potable Water 12,768 12,096 12,544 12,768 12,880 12,992
Purchases (UBest EstimateU)
Redwood City Recvcled Water 30 922 1,178 1 398 1,695 1,995
Transfers/Exchanqes in or out -
0 0 0 0 0 0
Desalination 0 0 0 0 0 0
Redwood City Groundwater* 0 0 0 0 0 0
TOTAL 12,798 13,018 13,722 14,166 14,575 14,987
*Defined as municipal potable source only. THE PENINSULA PARK PROJECT AND ITS PROJECTED WATER DEMAND

Project Description
The Peninsula Park Project is a planned development located in Redwood City, at Bair
Island Road/Ucelli Boulevard east of U.S. 101. It is a 33-acre property, which is currently
used for an impound car storage lot, several paved parking lots, five partially occupied office
buildings, a restaurant and other storage uses. it aiso includes a marina basin that ceased
operations in 2001. The project as proposed would consist of 796 residential condominium
units, 7,500 square feet of convenience retail and restaurant space, a 200-room hotel,
230,000 square feet of landscaping, which includes a community park, a marina with
approximately 70 boat slips, parking areas, and pedestrian plazas and esplanades.
Attachment 1 shows the conceptual site plan of the Project.

Projected Water Demand
The City estimated the future water demand of the Project as summarized in Table 3. The
City bases its water demand projections on the adopted City Engineen'ng Standards for
Water Demand Projection Criteria, known as "Attachment Qn, that is included as Attachment
2 to this document. In most cases, and in the aggregate. the City's future water use
forecasts are higher than those made by the Project applicant's engineers.

In brief, the projected net potable water demand for the Peninsula Park Project is 80.8 af/yr.
The projected total water demand for the project is 186.4 af/yr. Of the 186.4 af/yr, 27.1 af/yr
of the demand will be supplied by recycled water. In addition, 78.5 af/yr is allotted to the
Project as a "credit" for historic water use at the Project site. An "acre foot" is equal to
325,851 gallons. One "acre foot"per year is equal to about 892.7 gallons per day.
