<br />9A <br />Page 8 <br /> <br />ATTACHMENT 5 <br /> <br />Establish a List of "Work Verified" Tree Companies <br /> <br />A list of "Work-verified" Tree Companies will be developed to verify companies meet <br />the practices considered essential to perform professional tree work in Redwood City. <br />The list will be available to the public as a resource to select a tree company to <br />perform work on publicly-owned or privately-owned trees. It will be available for <br />reference, as a hand-out, and posted on the Public Works Services website, updated <br />bi-monthly. <br /> <br />The tree companies will voluntarily provide evidence of their qualifications in order to <br />be placed on the list. Additionally, the tree companies will sign an agreement to follow <br />to the permit process and pruning standards the City has established. If a company <br />fails to meet the criteria or violates the conditions of the agreement more than once <br />(one written warning will be issued), they would be removed from the list or placed on <br />a "Removed from the List" list. <br /> <br />The following criteria will need to be verified to be placed on the list: <br />i. Current full-time Certified Arborist or Board Certified Master Arborist on <br />staff, (Certified Tree workers will be noted as a bonus listing) <br />ii. Current Redwood City Business License <br />iii. Current State Contractors License (required for any job greater than <br />$500) <br />iv. Evidence of liability and workers compensation insurance. Certificates of <br />insurance naming the City as additional insured will be needed to <br />perform permitted work on City-owned trees. <br />v. Sign Agreement to educate their Redwood City customers about the <br />City's permit processes. <br />vi. Sign Agreement to follow Redwood City's codes for tree permit <br />processes and tree replacement. <br />vii. Sign Agreement to perform pruning work to ANSi A-300 Pruning <br />Standards <br />
