WHEREAS, the City of Redwood City owns, maintains, and operates <br />wastewater collection and transmission facilities which are vital to the public <br />health, welfare, and safety of persons and property within the City's service area; <br />and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, an emergency condition caused by fire, flood, storm, <br />earthquake, civil disturbance, or other conditions beyond the control of the City <br />would imperil the public health, welfare, and safety of said persons and property; <br />and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, other wastewater agencies would similarly be affected by the <br />occasion of emergency conditions within their respective service areas; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, no wastewater agency should be required unreasonably to <br />rely upon its own resources, facilities, or services upon the occasion of an <br />emergency; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the Agreement appropriately provides for mutual aid between <br />and among wastewater and collection agencies to receive and to lend equipment <br />in the event of a disaster requiring such mutual aid; <br /> <br /> NOW, THEREFORE; <br /> <br /> BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD <br />CITY, AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br /> 1. That certain Agreement entitled, "WWARN 1997 Omnibus Mutual Aid <br />Agreement," a copy of which is attached hereto marked Exhibit "A" and by this <br />reference incorporated herein, is hereby approved, and the City Manager and <br /> <br /> Reso-357 2 <br /> G:\shared\Redwood\Council; [ 3 2 8.5 <br /> DES:djk <br /> 02/02/98 <br /> <br /> <br />
