Customer site retrofits for each existing private or public site with a landscape <br />irrigation meter. Retrofits will occur as each property owner agrees to convert to <br />recycled water for landscape irrigation and industrial uses. Status: For Redwood <br />Shores Customer Site Retrofit Bid Package 1, 18 eligib#e commercial sites, located <br />along the new recycled water mainline, will have a total of 48 metered landscape <br />irrigation systems retrofitted for the 2007 irrigation season. <br />This customer site retrofit project (Retrofit Bid Package 1 -see attached map) is the first <br />retrofit project designed to extend the delivery of recycled water to new commercial <br />irrigation and City roadway landscape customers in Redwood Shores. The project consists <br />of converting existing irrigation systems, currently on drinking water, to accommodate the <br />use of recycled water. The construction is expected to be completed in approximately 150 <br />days from the Notice to Proceed. <br />The 5 bids received at the bid opening on March 7, 2007, are summarized below: <br />No. Bidder Bid Amount <br />1. Based upon the bids <br />received, staff believes that the low bid of $315,800.00 is reasonable and responsive, and <br />recommends awarding the contract to Mitchell Engineering, Inc. <br />Alternative <br />Do not award the contract for the Redwood City Recycled Water Project - Phase I - <br />Redwood Shores Customer Site Retrofits -Bid Package 1 Project, which would be <br />contrary to prior Council action. <br />Fiscal Impact <br />The Water Financing Plan - 2006 Update was approved by the City Council on January <br />23, 2006, concurrent with the Council's authorization to issue a second series of Water <br />Revenue Bonds to finance the construction of Phase One of the Recycled Water Project. <br />Band proceeds in the estimated amount of $23,500,000 were deposited info the project <br />Trustee Account in the first week of March, 2006. Funding for this portion of the project <br />construction is available from the Trustee Account. <br />PAGE20F3 <br />
