Exhibit A <br /> <br /> August 14, 1997 <br /> <br />Mr. Angel Acosta <br />273 Second Avenue <br />Redwood City, CA 94063 <br /> <br />Dear Mr. Acosta <br /> <br />The City Council, on August 25, 1997, through Resolution Number XXXXX, <br />authorized me to issue this letter to Hispanos Unidos, (hereinafter called <br />"Permittee") permitting the closure of streets, California Street between <br />Broadway and VVinklebleck, for the purpose of conducting an independence day <br />festival subject to and in accordance with the following terms and conditions: <br /> <br />1. EVENT: A festival called "Independence Day". <br /> <br />2. REVOCATION: This permit may be revoked at any time without cause by <br /> the City of Redwood City. <br /> <br />3. NON-TRANSFERABILITY: This permit is non-transferable. <br /> <br />4. EVENT CONTROL: Those portions of the event taking place in the public <br /> right-of-way shall occur in a manner and shall be limited to that area <br /> designated by the Chief of Police. If the Chief of Police determines that <br /> the provision of police officers is required for the control of traffic in <br /> connection with said event, permittee agrees to reimburse the City for the <br /> costs of the officers. <br /> <br />5. LOCATION: The festival will require the closing of California Street <br /> between Broadway and Winkelbeck. The closure on the VVinkelbeck side <br /> will be approximately 22 yards north of VVinklebleck to provide driveway <br /> clearance of the A-1 Party Rental driveway (refer to attached map) Booth <br /> set up and musical entertainment will occur in the street; food will not be <br /> prepared or served in the plaza area. <br /> <br /> <br />
