<br />7A <br />Page 63 <br /> <br />Q: Malony: How do you determine if a sign is historical or over 50 years old? <br />A: Page 30 determines how to categorize a his(oric sign. <br /> <br />Q: Malony: What is the ob.jective/goal for relating to size of site and district where to <br />find support in ordinance for a fit to retain non-conforming signs? <br />A: Signs will be proportionate to size of site/building or district, and there is an exception <br />process for signs, see page 27. <br /> <br />Q: Spotorno: Are tbere lighting regulations for signs? <br />A: There is direct lighting and indirect lighting when looking at signs, regulations for glare <br />typically come from the State, and City regulations .spill over of light to adjacent <br />properties. Ordinance says signs should not glare which is done with using an ivory <br />white vs. a stark white on sign faces. <br /> <br />Q: Spotorno: Will requirements for monument signs be changed for the size? <br />A: no change, 15' maximum height based on what is, proportion and compatibility to <br />building/site. <br /> <br />Q: Spotorno: Will the ordinance address lighted can signs? <br />A: Yes in size, height, placement and location. <br /> <br />Q: Spotorno: What will be the requirements for multi-tenant at mid rise buildings with <br />multi levels? <br />A: Property owners are responsible for the signs on their building, in the case of individual <br />building identification, only one sign is allowed for the property owner or primary <br />tenant, as determined by the owner. <br /> <br />Q: (unidentified speaker): How do I find out if my sign is non-conforming, and how do <br />I find out what type of sign I have? <br />A: provide the address and for a faster response take photos of signs and bring in to City <br />Hall and staffwill be able to determine ifsign is non-conforming. <br /> <br />Q: (unidentified speaker): Suggest City should work with tenants and owner for signs, <br />but for city should also put pressure on tenants. <br />A: City wants property owners aware and of course will talk to tenants. Property owner <br />should document that they have notified their tenants sign, and then the property owner <br />can decline responsibility in the case of sign violations by tenant. <br /> <br />Q: (unidentified speaker): Will the City help to pay for a new sign for business? <br />A: In the downtown it is possible for business to have the city help with new far;ade <br />improvement program which include signs, but so far this program does not go outside <br />the downtown area. <br /> <br />Q: (unidentified speaker): 50 Square foot minimum sign does that include front and <br />back of monument signs? <br />A: Back to back signs count as one sign area. <br />
