Redwood Creek is an important community asset and <br />has served as .an important natural resource throuohout the history of 19 <br />Redwood City. Todav most of the creek has been covered and is not <br />available for the public to eniov. The City will consider ways to "davliQhe <br />the creek and enhance its natural beauty where appropriate. <br /> '!\' <br /> ( <br />Insert at the end of Section 3.6 Precise Plan Implementation Actions <br />(page 105): a) Evaluate and consider potential improvements and <br />davliohtino of creeks in the downtown. <br /> 19 <br />b) Designate general zones or areas where green "mini" or "pocket parks" <br />would be appropriate in the Downtown Precise Plan area or just beyond. <br />A mini-park is defined as a small single-purpose park area usually about <br />Y4 acres in size or less and is used by small children and adults <br /> 20 <br />Pedestrian and Bicycle Circulation: (page 105) Insert at the end of <br />Section 3.6 Precise Plan Implementation Actions: a) Consider eliminatino <br />the LOS D threshold for downtown traffic so as to deliberately slow down 16 <br />traffic and make the downtown safer and pleasino for pedestrians. This <br />will be discussed as part of the Transportation and Circulation Element in <br />the General Plan Update. <br />b) Establish more of a bike emphasis in the downtown by addina more <br />bikeways. bicvcle storaoe facilities. and traffic calminQ measures. The <br />Pedestrian and Bicvcle Committee may further discuss this as part of the 18 <br />Transportation and Circulation Element of the General Plan. <br />c) Further investigate and discuss ways to improve a connection between <br />the Downtown Area and the Bavfront throuQh the General Plan Update <br />process. 15 <br />Public Art: (page 105) Insert at the end of Section 3.6 Precise Plan I <br />Implementation Actions: Consider formalizinQ a policv of promoting public <br />art in Redwood City. The Civic Cultural Commission will evaluate a "fee 27 <br />for art prooram" and make a recommendation to the Planning <br />Commission and City Council <br />Review Process: (page 1 05) Insert at the end of Section 3.6 Precise Plan <br />Implementation Actions: a) Monitor and evaluate the Downtown Precise <br />Plan review process to make sure it is a public process.
