Area 13 comprises approximately 2.44 acres immediately adjacent to the <br />San Francisco Bay along the eastern boundary of the Lido Neighborhood. A <br />pedestrian trail will traverse the length of Area 13 and two observation decks <br />facing the Bay slough fronting Bird Island will be constructed, one at the <br />northern and the other at the southern end of Area 13. This area will be <br />maintained as native wetlands, and will require periodic trash removal and <br />disposal. Periodic repair of the observation deck and trail may be required, as <br />may be sign replacement or repair, depending on traffic and other factors that <br />may cause periodic damage. <br /> <br />"A" SERVICE CODE <br /> <br />· Massed annual beds replanted two to three times a year. <br />· Bedding plant flowers deadheaded weekly. <br />· Shrubs and trees neatly trimmed throughout the year. Hand <br /> pruning may be used for neatness and look on specimen shrubs. <br />· Shrubs pruned 3-6 times a year depending upon location. <br />· Shrub beds mulched with a minimum depth of 2 inches with <br /> decorative bark. <br />· Shrub beds separated from turf by either wood headerboard or a <br /> concrete mowing strip. <br />· Dead or dying plant material removed when first observed and <br /> replanted as soon as possible. <br />· Shrub hedges and beds may have minor bare spots. <br />· Zero to five percent weed, insect and disease problems tolerated. <br />· Trees properly staked and tied and pruned for shape. <br />· Shrub beds planted with approved park section plant list plant <br /> material. <br />· Irrigation systems maintained. <br />· Shrub beds fertilized 3-5 times a year. <br /> <br />"B" SERVICE CODE <br /> <br />· Shrubs usually trimmed two to six times a year, depending upon <br /> location, with gas powered hedge trimmers. <br />· Trees pruned periodically. <br />· Shrub beds mulched with chips; some beds may not be mulched. <br />· Dead or dying plant material removed & replanted as time <br /> allows, usually within the month. <br />· Bare spots in hedges tolerated. <br />· Five to twenty percent weeds, insect and disease problems in <br /> shrub beds tolerated. <br />· Shrub beds planted with plants listed in approved park section <br /> plant list. <br /> <br /> <br />
