ATTACHMENT 3 <br /> Annual Action Plan <br /> 2007-2008 <br /> COMMUNITY OBJECTIVES & PRIORITY STRATEGIES FY 2005-2010 <br /> The goal of the City of Redwood City is to provide safe and sanitary housing <br /> opportunities in suitable locations for all segments of the population. The target group to <br /> be assisted under each goal is households with incomes at or below 80% of inedian <br /> income for San Mateo County. <br /> The City's 2005-2010 Annual Action Plan demonstrates a relationship between the <br /> Consolidated Plan Priorities and activities selected for funding during the first year of the <br /> Plan. The major theme of this Consolidated Plan is "Housing production and basic <br /> human needs". The proposed activities, to be undertaken with CDBG and HOME <br /> funds, reflect the City's strategy to target funds which integrate a continuum of activities <br /> ranging from homeless assistance to economic development and permanent housing. <br /> All activities proposed to be funded will meet one or more of the City's Consolidated <br /> Plan priorities. The City has identified a number of programs that will be delivered <br /> under each Priority. The Priority Strategies are: <br /> Priority Strateqv # 1 — Expansion and preservation of affordable housing — The <br /> goal of the City is to increase the affordable housing stock and provide decent, <br /> safe, and sanitary housing in adequate supply and at affordability levels for a <br /> wide range of residents from low income to poverty level. <br /> Prioritv Strateqy # 2 - Provide public service activities that help to reduce poverty, <br /> prevent to basic human needs including food, health, safety, survival, <br /> independent living, and self-sufficiency. <br /> Prioritv Strateqy # 3 — Implement non-housinq community development activities <br /> to provide economic and phvsical improvements and facilities for social programs <br /> in low income neighborhoods - The City's goal is to promote economic and job <br /> development activities for low income persons, and facilitate capital <br /> improvements that improves the quality of life in low income neighborhoods, and <br /> provide a variety of public facilities where anti-poverty and supportive intervention <br /> services can be delivered for a range of special needs populations. <br /> PROPOSED USE OF FUNDS For 2007-2008: The City of Redwood City will partner <br /> with non-profit organizations and County agencies to undertake numerous programs <br /> and activities that meet the three identified Priorities of the Consolidated Plan during <br /> fiscal year 2007-2008. The timeline of completion of these projects and programs is by <br /> June 30, 2008. <br />
