DIVISION ElGHT: MAtNTENANCE AND ENFORCEMENT Sec. 3.107. MAINTENANCE: Each sign and sign structure shall be maintained in a safe and st�ucturally saund manner free from deterioration, rust, rot and I�ose par�s. Each �:yn facs sha!! be kept clea� and neatly painted at all times. S��r�e(s; af illumination and other electrical components shall be kept in proper waricing candition in accordance with the requirements of an electrical permit. Any damaged, discolored or impraper•iy maintained sigr�s, sign structure or poriion ihereof shail prompily be cieaned, repaired, replaced and/or repainted to the reasonable satisfaction of the City. Sec. 3.108. VIOLATIONS: It shall be unlawful for any person to install or maintain any sign in violation of the provisions of this Article. Each day on which an illegal sign remains on dispfay is a new offense. The City shall have the authority to issus citations (notices to appear) for viola#ions of this Article. The City may enforce this Article by criminaf action, civil action which includes request for decfaratory and/or injunctive relief, nuisance abatement procedures available eander City or State {aw including but not limitec! to business and professians code 5499.1 et seq., or adminis#rative procedu�-es including, but not limited to, administrative code enforcement. When the City e4ects to prosecute violations as crimina! matters, violations of this article or any permit issued pursuant to this Article shall be punishable as an infraction, subject to: A. Liable parties. Any person, firm or corpora#ian, whether as principai, agent, employee or otherwise, who shall violate or cause the violation of any provision of this Article or of any permit made or issued, shall severafly, far each and every such violation, be guilty of an infraction and, upon conviction thereof, shall be punishable as provided :n �ubsection 1.7B af±��s Code. B. Penalt and waiver. The imposition of any one penalty for any violation snafi not excuse �he violation or permit it to continue. Each day during any portion of wi�ich any violation is committee or continued by such person, firm or carporation shall constitute a separate offense and may be punished or abated as herein provided. C. Citations. The Director may issue citations for violations or notices to correct or abate under this Article or any permit made or issued thereunder. Sec. 3.109.
