<br />EXHIBITE "A" <br /> <br />REDWOOD CITY LEVEE PROJECT <br />LEVEE SEGMENTS III & Vll <br /> <br />March 13, 2006 <br /> <br />SCOPE-OF-SERVICES <br /> <br />IT Lin Intemational/CCS (Consultant) shall provide the following services to City of Redwood City <br />(Client): <br /> <br />General Description of Work <br /> <br />This scope of work shall provide for preparing final design and plans, specifications, and estimates <br />(PS&E) for the Redwood Shores Levee Project, which includes work at two sites: Site 1: Levee Segment <br />III and Site 2: Levee Segment VII. <br /> <br />At Site 1: Levee Segment III, the work is generally defined as the construction of approximately 1570-ft <br />of new earth levee and concrete levee wall and raising in elevation approximately 300-ft of existing earth <br />levee, all inside of South Bayside Sewer Authority (SBSA) sewage plant. In addition, a timber wall and <br />timber steps will be constructed at the existing observation deck, near the easterly end of the proposed <br />new levee. <br /> <br />At Site 2: Levee Segment VII, the work is generally derIDed as raising the height of approximately 400- <br />feet of existing earth levee along Belmont Slough south of the Area H Wetlands. Included in the work at <br />this site is the construction of approximately 30-feet of Retaining/Flood Wall along the existing concrete <br />box outfall structure of the dual pipe connection between Belmont Slough and Redwood Shores Lagoon. <br />The final surface of the raised levee shall be gravel or decomposed granite to provide an improved surface <br />for pedestrians and others using the levee, except for the portion of the levee at the existing concrete <br />drainage box shall have an asphalt surface. All irnprovementc; to the levee shall be contained within the <br />limits of the existing top width of the levee, to prevent any impacts to the sensitive vegetation and <br />wetlands adjacent to the levee. <br /> <br />Included in this scope of work and final design shall be: <br /> <br />The Consultant shall prepare Plans, Specifications and Estimates (pS&E) for the project improvements. <br /> <br />The Consultant shall perform coordination with the City of Rcdwood City, SBSA, and with others as <br />required for the project. Three coordination meetings are anticipated and provided for in this scope-of- <br />work. <br /> <br />The C-Onsultant shall provide Geotechnical recommendations for the levee wall and earth fill levee design <br />at both Site 1 and Site 2. <br /> <br />For Site 1, electronic aerial topographical base mapping that will be provided to the Consultant by the <br />City for use in the preparation of the final design and construction documents, so acquisition of new <br />topographic mapping is not included in this scope-of-work. At Site 2, field surveys performed by City <br />forces will be provided to the Consultant for use in preparation of the project basc maps and final design. <br /> <br />Plans shall be prepared on AutoCAD using Imperial (English) units. <br /> <br />It is assumed that the City will provide the survey benchmark information, As-Built drawings, reports and <br />plans for adjoining projects under construction. <br />
