REDWOOD CITY LEVEE PROJECT LEVEE SEGMRNTS III & VII March 13, 2006 For Site 1 (SBSA): . The Consultant shan prepare conceptual levee alignments and coordinated them with the City and SBSA. . Based on the agreed conceptual alignment, the Consultant shall prepare a preliminary earth fill levee and levee wall alignment and corresponding preliminary construction cost estimates and submit them to the City for approval. The layout of the levee will be coordinated with the City and SBSA. . Based on the Geotechnical recommendations and City/SBSA alignment approval, the Consultant shall prepare Structure General Plans and refmed preliminary construction cost estimate and submit to the City for approval. After obtaining approval from the City, the Consultant shall prepare final design and construction bid documents. . Based on our meeting with the City, il is assumed that the City will continue maintaining the earth fill levee in front of the SBSA plant. The concrete levee wall and earth fill levee will be a secondary defense to protect the plant from the high tide condition. The levee wall will not be designed for the extreme wave and tide water level. . It is assumcd that the City will provide the high water elevation information. The top of levee will be 2 to 2.5' above the high water elevation. . Included in this Scope-of-Serviees shall be the modifications to the existing irrigation systems to made the system functional after impacts and removals due to the levee project. Landseaping or planting are not part of this scope-or-services. . The Consultant shall provide additional field survey to confirm existing topographic features, such as elevation along the approved levee wall alignment, and for the development of cross- sections. . The Consultant shall prepare plats and legal descriptions for construction and maintenance easements along the approved levee alignment. The Consultant shall makc design submittals at the preliminary, 95% and 100% (final) level of completion. The Consultant shall prepare Estimates of Probable Construction Costs for each submittal. The Final Estimate of Probable Construction shall be submitted with the final PS&E. Final design shall be in accordance with City of Redwood City's standards. The Consultant shall provide sufficient sets of submittal drawings for the City and other reviewing agencies for each submittal.
