<br />DES:djg-c 10/28/82 <br /> <br />Officers Research Association of California, California State <br /> <br /> <br />Sheriff's Association, International Association of Chiefs of <br /> <br />Police, National Sheriff's Association, and numerous other <br /> <br /> <br />organizations; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, this Council desires to acknowledge the achieve- <br /> <br /> <br />ments of John R. McDonald, Jr. and to express its appreciation <br /> <br /> <br />on behalf of the citizens of the City of Redwood City for his <br /> <br /> <br />devoted public service in the field of law enforcement; <br /> <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE; <br /> <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY, <br /> <br />AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br /> <br />1. This Council does hereby commend and congratulate John <br /> <br /> <br />R. McDonald, Jr., Sheriff of the County of San Mateo, and former <br /> <br /> <br />Police Chief of the City of Redwood City, upon the occasion of <br /> <br /> <br />his retirement from the office of Sheriff; does hereby further <br /> <br /> <br />express its appreciation on behalf of our citizens for his <br /> <br />exemplary service in the field of law enforcement; and does <br /> <br />hereby further extend to John and his family its best wishes for <br /> <br /> <br />a happy and fulfilling retirement from active law enforcement <br /> <br />duties. <br /> <br />2. The City Clerk is hereby authorized and directed to <br /> <br /> <br />transmit a copy of this resolution to John R.
