The department would lilce <br /> to purchase the software now and move to instai! and use +t onc� these key <br /> persannel positions are filied. <br /> Open market purchases are permitted pursuant to Section 2.80 of the Redwood <br /> City Municipal Code where after review of altemative sources as may be <br /> avaiiable in competition with one anather and sele�tion therefrom on the basis of <br /> abtaining maximum quality, services ar performance at minimum costs. In 2005, <br /> the City of Foster City undertook a request for propasals process for computer <br /> aided dispatch software. The software proposal offered by Sun Ridge Systems <br /> is the same as the software required by Redwood City Potice Department. <br /> Purchasing the Sun Ridge Systems software meets the requirements of section <br /> 2.80. <br /> The Police Department's automation committee, in consultation with the City's <br /> information Technology staff, has determined that Sun Ridge Systems, Inc. <br /> meets or exceeds the essential need of ihe departmenfi. It is recommended that <br /> the Sun Ridge Systems, Inc. software be purchased as a replacement for our <br /> current CAD, RMS, MDT and report writing software systems. <br /> The Foster City Requsst for Proposals, the Foster Cit�r contract and purchase <br /> order for Sun Ridge Systems, Inc., and the quotation from Sun Ridge Systems, <br /> Inc. far the Redwood City Police Department are on file with the Ci#y Clerk and <br /> are incorporated by reference to#his staff report. <br /> ALTERHATIVE <br /> The Cit�r Cauncil could choose to not approve the purchase af the Sun Ridge <br /> Systems, Inc. GAD; RMS MDT and report writing software systems and the <br /> department woulc! continue to use its existing systems. <br /> FiSCAL IMPACTS <br /> Funding of $523,587 has been budgeted in the CIP (FY 04/05).
