CITY OF REDWOOD CITY <br />LANDSCAPE EQUIPMENT OPERATOR (Continued) <br /> <br /> Understand and carry out both oral and written directions. <br /> <br /> Work independently in the absence of supervision. <br /> <br /> Communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing. <br /> <br /> Assist in the training and supervision of others and in the safe operation of equipment. <br /> <br /> Establish and maintain effective work relationships with those contacted in the <br /> performance of required duties. <br /> <br /> Skill to: <br /> <br /> Safely operate a variety of types of vehicles and heavy equipment. <br /> <br /> Use and operate hand tools, mechanical equipment and power tools and equipment <br /> required for the work in a safe and efficient manner. <br /> <br /> Train employees in required safe driving techniques, equipment operation, and Class A <br /> criteria and standards. <br /> <br /> Experience and Training Guidelines: <br /> Any combination of experience and training that would likely provide the required <br /> knowledge and abilities is qualifying. A typical way to obtain the knowledge and <br /> abilities would be: <br /> <br /> Experience: <br /> <br /> Two to three years experience in the operation of heavy landscaping equipment <br /> and general landscape maintenance work. <br /> <br /> Training: <br /> <br /> Equivalent to completion oftweh°rh grade. <br /> <br /> License or Certificate: <br /> <br /> Possession of a valid Class A driver's license with combination, truck & trailer, and <br /> tanker endorsements. Possession of a valid Department of Motor Vehicles'medical <br /> examiner certificate. <br /> <br /> <br />
