6.1C <br />monitor the arrival of any craft that needs to transit the area to ensure the craft will clear the safety zon age 17 <br />prior to the start of the show. The Sea Scouts are part of the emergency plan for the Coast Guard and can <br />provide additional communications and on the water support capabilities. <br />In addition, no shore spectators will be permitted in the industrial area between Wharf #4 and Wharf #5. <br />The pyrotechnic operator has the authority to suspend, stop, or cancel the show at any time if safety zone <br />requirements are not met ar maintained. <br />Use of the public access area of Seaport Court <br />The PCA will provide uniformed private security personnel to direct and monitor spectator activity in the <br />public viewing area at Seaport Court. Additional PCA volunteers will also on-site to monitor spectators and <br />to assist spectators with entry and exit of the area. <br />Additional lighting adjacent to the waterfront will also be provided at the end of the fireworks show to assist <br />in the safe exit of spectators from the area. <br />Notiffcation to other agencies <br />The PCA will assist the Redwood City Police Department with the notification to other local agencies that <br />maybe affected by the fireworks display and any potential traffic impacts related to the show. <br />Train Operations <br />The PCA will notify the Union Pacific operations office and request that any rail movements scheduled for <br />July 4~` be done before 6:00 pm and after 11:00 pm. <br />City Services Requested tbv Denartmenfl <br />Public Works: <br />Provide traffic cones and street barricades for the Port Area, and other traffic diversion requirements <br />as determined by the Police Department. The PCA will provide a list of times, locations, and <br />quantity of barricades needed. <br />Public Safety: <br />Street Closures and Parking Restrictions <br />No street closures are being requested by the PCA for the fireworks show. Seaport Boulevard or <br />other local streets maybe closed by the Police Department as needed to control the flow of vehicles <br />into the Port area. <br />Public parking in the Seaport Court area is limited and shared by the marina tenants, the Sequoia <br />Yacht Club, and the restaurants. The PCA is requesting the use of one-side (west-bound) curb <br />parking along Seaport Blvd from Seaport Court to the entrance to Pacific Shores for additional <br />public parking. This would be similar to what was done in previous years and the PCA would <br />employ a private security firm to assist with; the orderly parking of vehicles. <br />Parking in the unimproved area along the Frontage Road and raikoad track should not be permitted. <br />PCA July 4, 2007 Page $ of 10 Revised 5/3/2007 <br />
