The PCA will provide a list of times, locations, and quantity of barriers needed <br />for the Festival azea. <br />3. The Fireworks Display <br />The display will be conducted by a licensed fireworks vendor and launched from a barge in Redwood <br />Creek. The display will begin at 9:30 prn on Monday, July 4ei, and will last about 20 minutes. The fireworks <br />vendor has stated the materials in the show will be type 1.3G Aerial, class 3, up to 8 inches in diameter. The <br />fireworks vendor will obtain all necessary permits from the Coast Guard and local agencies. Copies of these <br />permits will be provided to the PCA. <br />The actual loading of fireworks launch equipment and display materials onto the barge will be done prior to <br />coming to Redwood City. The barge will arrive in the Port area prior to the show on July 4. Berthing at the <br />Port would be needed between 4:00 prn and 9:00 prn for inspection by the Redwood City Fire Department. <br />The barge will also need to iaie up to a wharf for inspection after the show. <br />During the show, the barge will be positioned in turning basin approximately 875 feet from Wharf #5. Due <br />to the nature of tidal flows in/out of the turning basin, barge positioning may vary. The barge operator will <br />have GPS equipment that can be used to insure proper positioning of the barge. <br />Provisions for maintaining.the Safety Zone <br />US Coast Guard regulations require a minimum safety zone of 1,000 feet around the barge. Therefore, no <br />watercraft will be permitted to anchor or remain in the deep water turning basin during the display. The Sea <br />Scouts of the Pacific Skyline Council will be requested to provide ships to help define the safety perimeter <br />and to keep water craft from entering the safety zone. They will have radio communications and the ability <br />to issue verbal warnings to boaters that the area is closed. In advance ofthe fireworks show, the Sea Scouts <br />will position their ships as to closelblock access to the turning basin and the safety zone.
