D. Capital Improvement Program Fiscal Year 2007/2008 First Study Session (205) <br />Engineering and Construction Engineer Chang presented the staff report and <br />presentation reviewing various capital improvement projects. <br />Questions and comments by Council Members included appreciation of the new <br />bike lanes and when future ones are planned on Woodside and Main; scheduling <br />public outreach; the possibility of street - scaping; is enough of the funding from the <br />utility users tax being used for state of the art IT equipment to run this community; <br />and funding for pedestrian safety. <br />Engineering and Construction Engineer Chang estimated that construction for the <br />new bike lanes may begin in September or October of this year and that current <br />funding does not include street- scaping. <br />M/S Hartnett/Foust to extend the meeting to 11:45 p.m. The motion passed by a <br />unanimous voice vote by those present. <br />Comments by Council Members also included sewer replacement; clarification of <br />pedestrian design; and Mayor Pierce and Council Member Aguirre specifically <br />spoke about a workshop they attended on permeable sidewalks, the conflict <br />between trees and sidewalks and the possibility of exploring a pilot program. <br />City Manager Everett stated that Council will see more information on this at their <br />second upcoming budget meeting. <br />M/S Pierce /Howard to extend the meeting until 11:30 p.m. The motion passed by <br />a unanimous voice vote by those present. <br />9. PUBLIC HEARING - <br />A.
