meeting on May 7, at 5:30 p.m. Once the firm is selected, that firm will then handle <br />discussions with internal and external stakeholders to develop a candidate profile, <br />similar with what was done for the Police Chief. <br />M/S Hartnett/Foust to extend the meeting until 11:45 p.m. The motion passed by a <br />unanimous voice vote by those present. <br />Council Member Howard talked about events held honoring Earth Day. <br />M/S Pierce /Foust to extend the meeting until 11:47 p.m. The motion passed by a <br />unanimous voice vote. <br />Mayor Pierce gave a reminder that there would be a closed session immediately <br />following the Joint City Council meeting. <br />11. ADJOURNMENT — 11:48 p.m. <br />M/S Foust/Hartnett to adjourn the meeting into closed session, and then until the next <br />City Council Meeting of April 30, 2007, in memory of Associate Planner Gary Bonte who <br />died on April 16, 2007 after a brief illness. He was born in San Francisco, graduated <br />from Fresno State University with a Master's degree in Urban and Regional Planning. <br />He had a long career as a city planner, including 18 years with the City of Redwood <br />City. His hard work and dedication to his profession leave an improved, safer, and <br />more beautiful Redwood City. He was an accomplished equestrian and received many <br />awards in jumping competitions, was a long -time believer in 'green' technology, a long- <br />time member of the Bay Area Electric Railway Association, a regular participant at the <br />Renaissance Pleasure Faire and also participated in the Dickens Faire in San <br />Francisco in Civil War reenactments across the state, and his photographs of <br />interurban electric transit were featured in national publications. Gary leaves his loving <br />companion of 27 years, Linda Bommerscheim of San Francisco and will be missed by <br />all who knew him.
