4/21/97 <br /> <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 13055 <br /> <br /> RESOLUTION RELINQUISHING STATE TRANSPORTAION <br /> IMPROVEMENT PROGRAM FUND ELIGIBILITY AND <br /> ALLOCATION FOR WHIPPLE AVENUE UNDERPASS PROJECT <br /> IN THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY, CALIFORNIA, URGING <br /> REALLOCATION OF FUNDS SO RELINQUISHED FOR <br /> ELIGIBLE PROJECTS IN SAN MATEO COUNTY, AND <br /> AUTHORIZING CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE DOCUMENTS IN <br /> PURSUANCE HEREOF <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, pursuant to Resolution No. 12130 entitled, "Resolution <br />Approving and Authorizing Execution of Agreement for Advanced Expenditure of <br />Local Funds for Whipple Avenue Underpass Project," adopted by this Council on <br />January 31, 1994, the City of Redwood City entered into that certain agreement <br />entitled, "State of California - Department of Transportation - Agreement for <br />Advance Expenditure of Local Funds," dated June 1, 1994, by and between the <br />City of Redwood City and the State of California, acting by and through its <br />Business, Transportation, and Housing Agency, Department of Transportation <br />(State Agreement No. FTA04A36; the '~Vhipple Agreement"); and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, pursuant to the Whipple Agreement, funds were allocated <br />under the State Transportation Improvement Program ("STIP") to include <br />$11,900,000 for the Whipple Avenue Underpass Project (the "Whipple Project") <br />in the City of Redwood City, California; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, this Council no longer deems the Whipple Project an <br />appropriate means to address the transportation needs of the City and further <br />deems said funds no longer required for the public health, welfare, or necessity <br />within the City; and <br /> <br /> Reso-177 <br /> G\share~Redwood~Council <br /> DES:rg <br /> 04/16/97 <br /> <br /> <br />
