MINUTE ORDER 07-098 <br /> 8. MATTERS OF COUNCIL INTEREST — <br /> A. Legislation (information onlyj - This sub-section involves possible discussion of <br /> City Position on Proposed Legislation described in the League of California Cities <br /> Priority Focus Bulletin No. 19-2007 and 20-2007. Council may direct staff to act on <br /> positions taken by Council. (Copies of League of California Cities Priority Focus <br /> available in City Clerk's Department). <br /> B. Council Member Hartnett — thanked Mayor Pierce for her handling of under Oral <br /> Communications related to Joe Webb's comments. He restated his disagreement <br /> with Mr. Webb's comments, and his assertions and characterizations of Council <br /> Member Hartnett's words. <br /> C. Mayor Pierce — stated that she attended the Annual Pet Parade and was delighted <br /> at the turnout, fun by all, and aN the work that the Parks, Recreation and Community <br /> Senrices Department and the Commission had done. <br /> D. Council Member Aguirre — stated that the first downtown concert of the year <br /> occurred the past Friday at the Courthouse Square. The concerts continue each <br /> Friday evening until September 28. She further stated that there are also concerts at <br /> Stafford Park (Wednesdays) and Marlin Park on Thursdays. Interested persons <br /> might view the Events Calendar on the City website. <br /> 9. ADJOURNMENT— 7:55 p.m. <br /> M/S Howard/Bain to adjourn in memory of Cpl. Jonathan D. Winterbottom and Charles <br /> Johnson (C.J.). <br /> Cpi. Winterbottom died in Iraq at the age of 21 years of age on May 23, 2007. He was <br /> from Falls church, Virginia. His desire to help people guided him toward his serving as a <br /> medic in the U.S. Army. <br /> Charles (CJ) Johnson died on June 1, 2007. He attended Sequoia High School and was <br /> marked for his humbteness as an excellent athlete.
