Mayor Claire and Vice Mayor Ira read the proclamation in honor of the 90th <br /> Anniversary of the Sea Scouts in the United States. Mike Mar-zano, Commodore <br /> for the local area, representing the Sea Scouts, stated that present at the <br /> meeting were parents, youth, adult volunteers and professional staff. He further <br /> explained the various activities in which the Sea Scouts are involved and <br /> encouraged anyone interested in joining to visit www.seascouts.orq or <br /> www.ussqdffith.orq. <br /> <br /> · International City Managers Association (ICMA) Program Excellence <br /> Award to Redwood City Family Center; <br /> <br /> Mayor Claire and Vice Mayor Ira read the proclamation honodng Redwood City <br /> Family Center for the award. Redwood City 2000 Executive Director Beth Ross <br /> and Director of Redwood City Family Center Karin Kelley Torregroza accepted <br /> the proclamation and asked all those in the audience to stand for recognition. <br /> <br /> 6. ORAL COMMUNICATIONS <br /> <br /> Rich Shapiro expressed appreciation for responsiveness from Council and staff <br /> members. He referred to a recent police related incident. He provided a newspaper <br /> article for the record. <br /> <br /> Rudy Luca stated his issue is regarding salary increases for two employees, the City <br /> Attorney and City Clerk. He asked that the Council consider foregoing the increases <br /> for at least one year. <br /> <br /> Judy Buchan reminded Council of "Tis the Party" on Tuesday evening, from 5:30- <br /> 7:30 p.m. at the History Museum. She stated admission is free, various foods will be <br /> offered, and an opportunity to pumhase a balloon to win prizes, and a silent auction <br /> will take place. <br /> <br /> John Anagnostou, Owner of the Fox Theatre, and Tom Miller, booker of the Little Fox, <br /> that will open on December 13. Mr. Miller stated that the intention is to bring the <br /> music of the wodd and America to the Peninsula in order to engage the entire <br /> community. <br /> <br />7. CONSENT CALENDAR" <br /> <br /> Items on the Consent Calendar are considered to be routine by the City Council and <br /> will be enacted by one motion and one vote.
