<br />Attachment A <br /> <br />6.1L <br />Page 8 <br /> <br />After School Learning Centers <br />PROGRAM & SCHOOL HIN%MUM EXPECTATIONS <br />City of Redwood City Parks and Recreation Department <br />Programming <br /> <br />Provider Expectations: <br />Program <br />o Provide after school academic enrichment services S days <br />a week (Monday through Friday) for a minimum of 3 hours <br />each day for a minimum of 30 weeks wbile school is in <br />session <br />o Provide services to students who are at risk of retention <br />or who are struggling academically that are identified <br />and referred by the scbool <br />o Provide services to identified students desp! te families' <br />abili ty to pay for the program <br />o Maintain an 8S%' attendance rate <br />o Academic interventions are either instruction, tutoring <br />or homework completion assistance and provided in small <br />groups and in classrooms/small rooms (school must provide <br />adequate space) <br />o Site Coordinator works with school to implement a <br />structured system to monitor homework completion and <br />communicate with teachers about homework requirements and <br />completion (i.e. - planners) <br />o Enrichment activities are structured and allow students <br />to develop academic and other skills that enrich <br />classroom learning and overall student success <br />o Enrichment activities are engaging and fun as reported by <br />students on the student survey <br />o The program has a parent involvement component that <br />minimally includes providing regular communications with <br />parents about program news/events and about individual <br />student challenges and successes <br />o Program and school rules and disciplinary procedures are <br />in alignment <br /> <br />Staff <br />o Employ an after school program site coordinator for each <br />si te wbo is approved by the school principal <br />o Main tain an adul t - studen t ra ti 0 of 1: 20 and ensure tha t <br />all staff used in tbis ratio meet the District's minimum <br />qualifications for an instructional aide <br />o Site Coordinator is not in ratio (unless there is a staff <br />shortage or other need) and works a minimum of 30 hours <br />per week at the school site <br />o Program staff will have the following: <br />
